Installation Notes

• Receiver location: the sheet prefers wall-mounting the receiver in a plastic switch box, away from the appliance's heat; keep the inside of the receiver below 130 F, since heat also shortens battery life.
• Wiring: connect the receiver to the TH (thermostat) terminals of a millivolt valve, or to the electronic module as its maker specifies, with 18-gauge wire, no splices, no longer than 20 ft. Never connect the valve or module to 110-120 V AC.
• Away from home: set the receiver slide switch to OFF; when the receiver is out of children's reach this also acts as a lock-out.
• Sheet revision: the sheet linked below is an earlier revision of Empire's FRBC instructions; ask us if you need the current one.
• Slope glaze burners: the slope glaze burner manual lists the remotes, wall switch and thermostats for the remote-ready VFSR models only.
