TrueFlame TF Series or E Series?
Both lines use 14,000 BTU burners in the same widths, with three burners at 25", four at 32" and five at 40", and both take the same island cutout. The differences are in the hardware:
- TF Series (TF25, TF32 and TF40): cast #304 stainless steel burners, square stainless cooking grates, a full-length LED strip with backlit knobs that turn red when a burner is on, halogen interior lights, and a warming rack with a removable cooking tray. The TF32 and TF40 add a 10,000 BTU infrared back burner for the rotisserie. Main grilling area is 398, 530 and 663 sq. in.
- E Series (TFE25 and TFE32): #304 stainless steel tube burners, 8mm round stainless grates, no lighting and no back burner, at a lower price. There is no 40" E Series, so a 40" TrueFlame grill means the TF40.
The TF-IRB infrared sear burner drops in to replace one main burner on a TF Series grill only; it does not fit the E Series.
Built-In or Freestanding
A built-in grill is the grill head alone, made to drop into a non-combustible island. A freestanding grill is the same head sold on its matching TrueFlame cart: CART-TF-25DC for the 25", CART-TF-32DC for the 32" and CART-TF-40DC for the 40". The cooking hardware is identical either way. Every TrueFlame grill is listed both ways in this collection, for example the TF32 freestanding and the TFE32 freestanding. The Deluxe Cart is also sold on its own.
Griddle, Side Burners and Grill Accessories
- TFG30 30" griddle: two 18,000 BTU burners under a 495 sq. in., 1/2" thick stainless cooking surface, built in or on its own cart.
- TFSB2 double side burner: two burners, 24,000 BTU total, with a stainless lid and LED front lighting.
- TFPB power burner: 24,000 and 36,000 BTU ring burners, 60,000 BTU total, with a removable wok grate.
- Grill liners: the GL-TF25, GL-TF32 and GL-TF40, GL-TFGRID30, GL-TFSB2 and GL-TFPB insulating jackets, needed when an island is framed with combustible materials.
- Accessories: rotisserie kits, the TF-GP-14 griddle plate, 36" and 48" wind guards, and fitted grill covers.
TrueFlame Outdoor Vent Hoods
TrueFlame's outdoor-rated, wall-mounted hoods come in 36" with one 1,000 CFM blower, and 42", 48", 60" and 72" with two blowers for 2,000 CFM. TrueFlame recommends a hood at least 6" wider than the grill below it. Each size has its own 4" and 8" spacer brackets to bring the hood forward off the wall, and the 36" has a 12" duct cover.
TrueFlame Outdoor Refrigeration

TrueFlame FAQs
What is the difference between TrueFlame TF and E Series grills?
Both use 14,000 BTU burners in the same widths and fit the same cutouts. The TF Series adds cast stainless burners, square grates, LED and halogen lighting, and on the 32" and 40" a 10,000 BTU infrared back burner. The E Series has tube burners, round grates, no lighting and no back burner, and costs less. The E Series is only made in 25" and 32".
What size cutout does a TrueFlame grill need?
Go by the cutout, not the grill's width. From TrueFlame's cutout sheet, the 25" grills take a 23-1/4" W x 20-3/4" D x 8-1/4" H opening, the 32" grills take 30-3/4" W, and the TF40 takes 38-1/4" W, all 20-3/4" deep and 8-1/4" high. The TFG30 griddle takes 28-1/4" W x 21-7/8" D x 10-3/4" H. Every product page lists its cutout; check with us before you cut your island.
Do I need a grill liner?
TrueFlame calls for a non-combustible island. If the island is framed with combustible materials, use the TrueFlame insulating liner made for that grill, griddle or side burner.
Do I need a vent hood over a TrueFlame grill?
The TF Series manual calls for a hood when the grill is under combustible overhead construction, and the E Series manual calls for one under any overhead construction. The minimum hood blower is 1,000 CFM for TF grills and 1,200 CFM for E Series grills, and the hood should be at least 6" wider than the grill. Check your grill's manual and local code before you build.
Are TrueFlame grills natural gas or propane?
Both. Choose the fuel when you order; propane models carry an L at the end of the part number, such as TF32L. The grills are factory set for one gas, and a conversion orifice set is packed with the manual.
What warranty do TrueFlame grills have?
TrueFlame (AMD Direct) gives a Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty on construction, stainless steel, cooking grates, burners, burner covers, valves and heat zone separators, and 3 years on other parts and electrical, including LED bulbs and the transformer. Replacement parts are 100% non-prorated; labor is not covered. Register online within 30 days of purchase. Refrigeration has its own terms: 3 years on the 15" and 24" units and 1 year on the 22" units.
