The TrueFlame TF-VH42-3 is a 42" outdoor rated, wall-mounted vent hood with two 1,000 CFM blowers (2,000 CFM total), four LED lights and two 8" duct connections. It vents from the top or the rear and comes with a 1/2" mounting template (the mounting bracket). The manufacturer recommends a hood at least 6" wider than the cooking appliance below it.

Installation

• Mount the bottom of the hood 32" minimum and 36" maximum above the grill cooking surface (manufacturer recommendation).
• For wood or charcoal, the manual recommends a minimum clearance of 36".
• Choose a hood at least 6" wider than the cooking appliance; it should extend 3"-6" past each side and the front of the grill.
• Use an 8" roof or wall vent cap minimum and a non-restrictive termination cap; do not use a restrictive cap or damper.
• Do not end the vent in an attic or other enclosed area. More than 20 ft of total vent pipe reduces the hood's effectiveness.
• Power: 120 V / 60 Hz, 489 W, 4 A; the hood has a power cord.
• Use either the included 1/2" mounting template or a 4" or 8" spacer bracket, never the template and a spacer together. Spacers are sized to the hood, so use the spacer made for this size.
• TrueFlame also makes a duct cover (TF-VH4272-DC), a 22"-43" telescopic duct cover (TF-VH4272-DCT) and a wye duct fitting (TF-VH-3-WDF) that joins the two 8" duct openings into one 10" duct for this hood; ask us about these parts.

Please Note

• The manufacturer's installation manual gives different figures in different places for duct pipe size, the number and type of elbows allowed, and how many people are needed to install the hood. Follow the installation manual and confirm your vent run and install plan with us before you buy duct parts.
• No line drawing is published for this hood yet. Confirm the duct transition locations with us before you cut wall or roof openings.

Warranty

Covered by the TrueFlame (AMD Direct) Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty, with replacement parts 100% non-prorated, for purchases as of 3/1/23. It covers replacement parts only (labor is not covered), applies to the original purchaser at the original delivery site, requires online registration within 30 days, and excludes commercial use, improper installation, surface rust, corrosion and discoloration.
