Best-Selling Superior Fireplaces

Ranked by what Dreamwood Living customers actually buy:

1. DRL linear direct vent gas — our number one Superior family, nearly half of everything we sell from the brand. Best sellers are the DRL2055 55" and DRL3555 55", with the DRL3545 45" close behind.
2. WCT EPA certified wood burning fireplaces — the WCT6940 is our single best-selling Superior wood unit, with the WCT6920 20" for smaller openings.
3. DRT traditional direct vent gas — a conventional firebox shape in 35", 40" and 45".
4. Direct vent pipe and chimney — high order volume from installers. SecureVent rigid pipe and the 7" Snap-Pak chimney lead the way.
5. WRE outdoor wood burning fireplaces — the WRE4550 50" for covered patios and outdoor rooms.

Superior DRL Linear Contemporary Gas Fireplaces

The DRL range is Superior's contemporary linear direct vent line, built around a wide ribbon of flame. It runs across four tiers and widths from 35" to 84": the value DRL2000 series in 45" and 55", the DRL3500 series, and the larger DRL4000 and DRL6000 series reaching 72" and 84". Several models accept a see-through conversion kit so one fireplace finishes two rooms, or an indoor space and a patio.

Superior DRT Traditional Gas Fireplaces

If you want a conventional firebox rather than a ribbon, the DRT range covers DRT2040, DRT3035, DRT3545, DRT4245 and the premium DRT6340 and DRT6345, plus the DRT63ST see-through. Finish them with Vista, Reflection or Craftsman facades in black or warm chestnut.

Superior Wood Burning Fireplaces

Superior still builds real wood burning fireboxes, including EPA certified models. The WCT6940, WCT6920, WCT4920 and WRT3920 are EPA certified units. For a classic builder firebox, the WRT4500 and WRT6000 series come in 36", 42" and 50", and the WRT8048 48" masonry fireplace is the largest. Add the WCT6940 black doors and facade to finish the opening.

Superior Outdoor Wood Fireplaces

The WRE series is built for covered patios and outdoor rooms, in 36", 42" and 50" widths across the WRE3000, WRE4500 and WRE6000 tiers.

Superior Vent-Free Gas Fireplaces

Where code allows, a vent-free fireplace installs without a chimney or flue. Superior's linear VRL3045 45" and VRL3055 55" use electronic ignition. Vent-free indoor use is restricted in some states and municipalities, so check local code before ordering.

Superior Venting and Chimney Systems

Every Superior fireplace needs the matching vent. We stock the complete systems: 4.5x7.5" SecureVent rigid direct vent pipe, elbows and terminations, 4.5x7.5" SecureFlex flexible vent for retrofits, the 6DVL Direct Vent Lock system, and air-cooled chimney in 7" Snap-Pak, 8" and 12" for wood burning installations.

Superior Fireplace FAQs

How do I read a Superior model number?

The letters tell you the fuel and style and the last two digits tell you the nominal width in inches. DRL is direct vent linear, DRT is direct vent traditional, VRL is vent-free linear, WCT is a louvered circulating wood firebox, WRT is a radiant wood firebox and WRE is an outdoor wood fireplace. So a DRL3545 is a 45" direct vent linear from the 3500 series, and a WRE6042 is a 42" outdoor wood fireplace.

What is the difference between the DRL2000, 3500, 4000 and 6000 series?

They are tiers within the same linear format. The higher series numbers bring larger maximum widths, deeper fireboxes and more finish and media options. The DRL2000 and DRL3500 cover 35" to 55", while the DRL4000 and DRL6000 run up to 84".

What does EPA certified mean on a wood fireplace?

It means the unit meets current EPA emission limits for wood burning appliances, so it burns cleaner and more completely than an older uncertified firebox and generally uses less wood for the same heat. Superior's WCT6940, WCT6920, WCT4920 and WRT3920 are EPA certified.

Can a Superior linear fireplace be seen from two sides?

Yes, on several DRL models. A see-through conversion kit turns a single-sided unit into a two-sided fireplace, which works well between a living and dining room, or between an indoor room and a covered patio.

Which vent system do I need?

Gas direct vent models use SecureVent rigid pipe, SecureFlex flexible vent or the 6DVL lock system depending on the fireplace and the run. Wood burning fireplaces use air-cooled chimney in 7", 8" or 12". Send us your model number and the wall or roof path and we will put together the right vent list.
