Installation Notes

  • Placement: fasten a firestop to each side of the framed hole with nails or screws, with the heat shields toward the top of the hole, then run the vent through (Tahoe Deluxe manual).
  • Wall hole: the Tahoe Deluxe manual gives an 11" high x 10" wide hole for its top-vent horizontal installs; check your appliance manual for its size.
  • Clearances: the Tahoe Deluxe manual calls for 3" from combustibles above horizontal 4" x 6-5/8" pipe and elbows, 1" at the sides and bottom, and 1" around vertical pipe where it passes through the roof.
  • Vent limits: allowed lengths, elbows and termination clearances differ from one appliance to the next. Follow the venting section of your appliance's manual and the vent systems it approves.
