Empire 4 x 6 5/8 Horizontal Vent Kits for Fireplace
Empire's 4" x 6-5/8" horizontal vent kits (model numbers DVVK4F, DVVK4FRE, DVVK4FREVS, DVVK4RP, DVVK4REVS, DVVK4TP and DVVK4TSP) package the parts for a through-the-wall termination on Empire direct-vent fireplaces with 4" x 6-5/8" collars: flex kits with a square or round cap, round cap kits for vinyl siding, and top or rear vent kits built from DuraVent DirectVent Pro pipe.

Installation Notes

Choosing a kit: your fireplace or stove manual lists the kits it accepts, and each appliance page in the Fits list shows the kits offered for it.

Flex kits: the DVVK4F sheet calls for a 9" wide x 11" high framed opening, 3" of clearance above the vent and 1" at the sides and bottom, supports every 3 ft of horizontal run, and a steady rise toward the cap. Flex vent must not be mixed with rigid pipe or joined to more flex without approved connectors.

Flex adaptor: Tahoe Clean-Face Premium and Contemporary fireplaces need the SD46DVAFCFX7 adaptor collar with the DVVK4F (their manuals).

Round cap kits: the DVVK-4REVS sheet covers walls up to 13" deep; deeper walls need the run extended with 4" x 6-5/8" rigid pipe. On a brick or block wall the hole is a 7" round.

Installation: kits must be installed by a qualified installer following the fireplace manual and local codes. In Massachusetts, gas work must be done by a licensed plumber or gas fitter.
