Venting
- Napoleon and Kingsman stoves use 4" / 7" direct vent pipe; the Kingsman FDV451 also takes 4" x 6 5/8" rigid pipe. The Napoleon Knightsbridge and Elora can vent from the top or the rear.
- Empire Spirit and True North stoves use 4" x 6 5/8" co-axial pipe. The Empire manual allows several vent brands and calls for a vertical rise before the first elbow and no more than two 90-degree elbows.
- The True North TN24 allows up to 30 ft of vent with no more than three 90-degree elbows, or co-linear venting with two 3" flex liners from 10 ft to 35 ft long.
- Kingsman and Empire stoves can vent horizontally through a wall or vertically through the roof.
Each manual lists the approved vent systems and the allowed rise and run, and the Kingsman pages list the vent parts to order. Our guide to how direct venting works covers the basics.
Ignition, remotes and blowers
- Millivolt models run without electricity, so they keep working in a power outage: the Napoleon Arlington, Haliburton and Havelock in their millivolt versions, the Empire Spirit millivolt models and the Kingsman millivolt models.
- Remote included: the Napoleon Bayfield and Elora, the Breckwell BH23, the True North TN24 and the Kingsman "E2" Proflame 2 models.
- Blower included: the Napoleon Haliburton and Havelock and the Breckwell BH23 (130 CFM). Optional blowers: GS-65KT for the Arlington, GSB25KT for the Bayfield, GS-64KT for the Knightsbridge and the F45FK fan kit for the Kingsman stoves.
Our guide to millivolt vs. electronic ignition explains the difference.
What to order with it
- Kingsman FDV200S: the five-piece fiber split oak log set (LOGF200).

- Kingsman FDV451: the front door and side doors, plus a log set or glass media.
- Napoleon Elora: a Luminous Log burner kit, in oak or birch.
- Napoleon: doors and accessories for the Havelock and MIRRO-FLAME porcelain panels for the Bayfield.
- Empire Spirit cast iron: a black porcelain liner for the DVP20CC or the DVP30CC, and a side shelf kit for either.
Natural gas or propane
The Empire Spirit, Kingsman and Breckwell BH23 stoves come as natural gas or propane models, or convert with a kit. The Napoleon stoves ship for natural gas, with a propane conversion kit for the Arlington, Bayfield, Havelock, Knightsbridge and the electronic Haliburton; the Elora is natural gas only. The True North TN24 ships for natural gas, and kit 32180001 converts it to propane.
