Bromic Smart-Heat Heaters

• Platinum Electric: slim heaters with a brushed 304 stainless steel body and tinted ceramic-glass face, in 2300W, 3400W and 4500W, black or white. The Platinum Electric Marine versions (2300W, 3400W, 4500W) use 316 stainless steel for coastal homes and boats.
• Tungsten Electric Select and Coastal: the updated Tungsten range, with a slim, lighter housing, soft-glow infrared elements and an IPX5 rating. Select comes in Black, White or Graphite in 2000W, 3000W, 4000W and 6000W, with a Diamond front and optional Oval or Triangle fronts. Coastal (4000W, 6000W) adds marine-grade construction for oceanfront, rooftop and poolside sites.
• Tungsten Electric: the original Tungsten heaters with a honeycomb mesh front and stainless steel construction, such as the 4000W and 6000W, in black or white for 208V, 240V or 277V supply.
• Cobalt Electric: quartz-element heaters in 304 stainless steel, 4000W and 6000W, for 240V or 208V.
• Eclipse: a round 2900W heater with a dimmable LED light ring, as a pendant that hangs from a ceiling or wall pole, or as a freestanding portable that plugs in.
• Gas heaters: the Platinum Gas 300 and 500 with a ceramic-glass screen, the Tungsten Gas 300 and 500 with a honeycomb mesh face, and the freestanding Tungsten Portable that holds a 20 lb propane cylinder in its base. Mounted gas models are made for natural gas or propane and run their ignition from a 110V supply, so they can be switched remotely.

Controls and Mounting

• Affinity controls: On/Off controls (1, 2 and 5 channel) switch Platinum and Tungsten heaters, gas or electric; Dimmer controls (1, 2 and 5 channel) adjust electric heaters in 1% steps; and the Affinity Eclipse controls (1 and 5 channel) run heat and light on the Eclipse pendant. They work through the Bromic Heating app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, with timers, schedules and heating zones. The expansion board adds 0-10V and Ethernet connections for a building management system.
• Mounting: ceiling recess kits for Platinum and Tungsten heaters, tube suspension kits for Platinum and Tungsten heaters, a ceiling mount pole for the gas heaters and ceiling and wall poles for the Eclipse pendant.
• Accessories: heat deflectors for Platinum and Tungsten gas heaters and a head cover for the Tungsten Portable.

Bromic Heating Warranty

Bromic covers the original owner by supplying a replacement heater or part; labor, removal, reinstallation and shipping are the owner's cost, and claims start with the dealer who sold the heater. Coverage by series: Platinum Electric 3 years; Platinum Electric Marine 5 years on land (3 years on boats); Eclipse 3 years; Tungsten Electric 2 years, with 7 years on the heating elements; Platinum Gas and Tungsten Gas 2 years (hoses and igniters excluded); Tungsten Portable 1 year; Affinity controls 1 year. Who makes Bromic heaters?

Bromic Group, with its head office in Ingleburn, New South Wales, Australia. Bromic runs a US service line for warranty and parts questions.

Electric or gas?

Electric heaters need no gas line; they are hardwired by a licensed electrician to a 208V, 240V or 277V circuit, depending on the model. Mounted gas heaters are built for either natural gas or propane (fixed at the factory) and also need a 110V supply for ignition. The Tungsten Portable runs on a propane cylinder or connects to a natural gas line.

Which models suit coastal or poolside sites?

The Platinum Electric Marine heaters use 316 stainless steel, and the Tungsten Electric Coastal heaters use marine-grade construction for salt air and moisture.

How are Bromic heaters controlled?

A standard wall switch works for on and off. Affinity controls add app control, schedules and zones: On/Off for gas or electric heaters, Dimmer for adjustable output on electric heaters. Eclipse heaters use the Affinity Eclipse control, or the Eclipse control with its wireless remote, for heat and light.

How much area does one heater cover?

It depends on the model and mounting height. As examples from Bromic's spec sheets: the Platinum Electric 2300W heats up to 65 ft², the Tungsten Electric Select 4000W up to 130 ft², and the Platinum Gas 500 and Tungsten Gas 500 up to 215 ft².

Can the heaters be recessed into the ceiling?

Platinum Electric and Tungsten Electric heaters can be flush recessed with the matching ceiling recess kit, sold separately. Check the recess kit instructions for ceiling cavity and clearance requirements.
