What is the difference between vent free and direct vent?

A vent free fireplace burns without a chimney or flue, which makes it simple to place, especially outdoors. A direct vent fireplace is sealed and vents through a wall or roof, drawing combustion air from outside. Vent free indoor use is restricted in some states and municipalities, so check your local code before ordering.

Can I put a Majestic gas insert in my existing fireplace?

Yes. Majestic gas inserts such as the Ruby, Trilliant and Jasper are built to slide into an existing masonry fireplace. You will need to match the insert to your firebox opening and add a vent kit and surround. Send us your opening dimensions and we will confirm the fit.

Do Majestic fireplaces work during a power outage?
