Majestic SL1100 Chimney
Majestic SL1100 is the 11" chimney system for Majestic wood-burning fireplaces that specify it, including the Ashland 36", 42" and 50" and the Designer Series 42" see-through. SL1100 is a chimney with a stainless steel inner wall and a Galvalume steel outer wall, 11" inside diameter and 13" outside diameter. It needs at least 2" of air space to combustibles and building insulation. It is for Majestic wood-burning fireplaces that specify SL1100 Series chimney; on our product pages, that includes the Ashland 36", Ashland 42" and Ashland 50" and the Designer Series 42" see-through.
What every SL1100 chimney needs
Besides the chimney sections, Majestic lists firestop spacers, an attic insulation shield, roof flashing, a storm collar and a termination cap as required to finish the system. The round caps (TR11 and the telescoping TR11T-B) include a storm collar.

Counting sections by effective height
Each section joins into the one below it, so it adds less height than its nominal length. Use the effective height when you work out how many sections you need:
- SL1106 (6"): 4-3/4"
- SL1112 (12"): 10-3/4"
- SL1118 (18"): 16-3/4"
- SL1136 (36"): 34-3/4"
- SL1148 (48"): 46-3/4"
Adding up nominal lengths will leave you short. Minimum and maximum chimney heights and offset limits come from the installation manual for your fireplace.
Clearances and framing
- Keep at least 2" of air space between the chimney and insulation or any other combustible material, at every level, including between the framing and each section.
- Enclose the chimney from the fireplace to the attic, keeping the 2" clearance all the way.
- Support the pipe during construction and check that nothing has knocked a section loose at the fireplace or at any joint.

Which fireplaces use SL1100?
Majestic wood-burning fireplaces that specify SL1100 Series chimney. On our site, the Ashland 36", 42" and 50" and the Designer Series 42" see-through list it.
How many sections do I need?
Add up effective heights, not nominal lengths, until you reach the chimney height your fireplace's manual calls for. A 48" section adds 46-3/4", for example.
Which termination cap should I choose?
There are five SL1100 caps. The round TR11 and TR11T-B include a storm collar and can be hidden with a shroud; the square ST1175 comes painted black or in stainless steel, and the TCT1175 has a terra cotta finish for a masonry look.
Can I offset the chimney?
Yes, with the SL1130 30° offset and return elbows. Your fireplace's installation manual sets the offset limits.
What clearance does SL1100 need?
At least 2" of air space to combustibles and building insulation.
