Lengths and Effective Height
Important when planning a chimney run: each section joins into the one below it, so the height it actually adds to the system is less than its nominal length. Use the effective height column when calculating how many sections you need — adding up nominal lengths will leave you short.

Installation Notes
- A 2" (51 mm) minimum air space clearance must be maintained to insulation and all other combustible materials surrounding the chimney system. Failure to do so may cause overheating and fire.
- Chimney sections at any level require a 2" minimum air space between the framing and the chimney section.
- The chimney must be enclosed from the fireplace to the attic, maintaining the 2" clearances throughout.
- Support the pipe during construction and verify that no inadvertent loading has dislodged a section at the fireplace or at any chimney joint.
- Firestop spacers, an attic insulation shield, roof flashing, a storm collar and a termination cap are required to complete the system — all are available in the SL1100 range.
- Always follow the installation manual supplied with your fireplace for the complete chimney configuration, maximum and minimum heights, and offset limits.
