Empire DVVK4RE Horizontal Vent Kit with Termination Cap

The Empire DVVK4RE is a round horizontal termination kit for Empire direct-vent fireplaces with 4" x 6-5/8" collars. It connects straight to the fireplace or to a rigid 4" x 6-5/8" vent run, with an air inlet tube and flue outlet tube cut to fit the wall.

Installation Notes

• Deeper walls: beyond 13-3/4", extend the system with 4" x 6-5/8" rigid pipe, within the lengths your fireplace manual allows.
• Siding: on wood, lap or vinyl siding the sheet calls for the DV822 vinyl siding kit, which sets the cap 3" out from the wall. On brick or block, cut a 7" round hole.
• Cutting the tubes: with the fireplace in its final place, mark and cut the 6-5/8" air inlet tube and the 4" flue outlet tube to length; do not crimp or enlarge them. The gasket is used only when the flue tube connects straight to the fireplace, and high-temperature sealant when it connects to rigid pipe.
• Tools (sheet): sheet metal snips, 5/16" nut driver, #2 Phillips screwdriver, measuring tape and sealant or furnace cement rated for 1,000 F continuous use.
• Installation: must be installed by a qualified installer following the fireplace manual and local codes. In Massachusetts, gas work must be done by a licensed plumber or gas fitter.
