Built-in, wall-mount or insert

• Built-in: framed into the wall so the front sits flush. The Astound Built-in, Elevation Electric, Elevation X Electric, Luminex, CLEARion Elite, Trivista Primis, Element and Cineview. The Element and Cineview are self-trimming and can also go into an existing opening or mantel surround.
• Wall-mount: hangs on the wall, and most can also be recessed. The Astound FlexMount mounts on the wall, partly recessed or fully recessed. The Astound SlimMount is 4" deep and recesses fully into a standard 2x4 wall. The Entice (5-1/2" deep) hangs, semi-recesses or fully recesses, the Allure Vertical can be partly recessed, and the Stylus Cara Elite hangs and plugs in.
• Insert: goes into a fireplace you already have. The Rosedale slides into most standard wood, masonry or gas firebox openings, with a faceplate or backerplate to finish the opening. The Woodland electric log set is a log set with its own heater, used in place of a wood fire.
• See-through and multi-sided: the CLEARion Elite shows the fire in two rooms, with a separate heater and remote for each side and privacy glass that switches between clear, semi-transparent and opaque. The Luminex installs 1-sided, 2-sided (corner) or 3-sided, and the Trivista Primis comes with end panels for 1-sided, 2-sided or 3-sided viewing.

Plug-in or hardwired

A Napoleon electric fireplace needs no gas line or venting, only power. How it's wired decides how much heat you get.

• 10,000 BTU (3,000 W) on 240V: the Astound Built-in and FlexMount, Elevation Electric, Elevation X Electric, Luminex, CLEARion Elite, Element and Rosedale, all hardwired at 240V. On 120V they run at 5,000 BTU. The Trivista Primis is rated 10,000 BTU and hardwires at 120V or 240V.
• 5,000 BTU: the Astound SlimMount, Cineview, Entice, Allure Vertical, Stylus Cara Elite and Woodland log set.
• Hardwire only: the Astound Built-in, Elevation Electric, Luminex and Trivista Primis. Plan the circuit with your electrician before the wall is closed in.
• Plug in or hardwire: the Astound FlexMount and SlimMount, Elevation X Electric, Element, Cineview, Rosedale, Entice and Woodland log set. The Stylus Cara Elite plugs into a standard 120V outlet.

The Elevation Electric and Elevation X Electric each need a dedicated 15 amp grounded circuit, and Napoleon's instructions for the Elevation X Electric rule out extension cords and power strips.

Flames and media

• LCD flames: the Elevation X Electric shows high definition gas or wood flame video on an LCD rear panel behind glowing split oak logs, with crackling sound from built-in speakers. The Luminex has three flame visuals (gas, wood and dancing flames), each with its own sound.
• Layered flames: the Elevation Electric uses Napoleon's triple-layer flame, which grows from front to back and from the sides to the middle around premium split oak logs. The Rosedale uses multi-layer flame technology with an oak log set.
• Spark flames: the Astound lines add a spark effect to orange and yellow flames. The Astound Built-in and FlexMount come with Beach Fire logs and a Woodland media kit, and the SlimMount with a Woodland glass media kit.
• Blue and multi-color flames: the Entice, Cineview, CLEARion Elite and Allure Vertical offer blue flames as well as orange, or a mix of colors.
• Top lights: 13 colors on the Astound Built-in and FlexMount, Elevation Electric, Elevation X Electric, Luminex, Rosedale and Trivista Primis, and the Napoleon Home app can set more colors on the Astound Built-in and Luminex.

Smart controls

The Napoleon Home app and Google Home or Alexa voice control work with the Astound Built-in, FlexMount and SlimMount, the Elevation Electric and Elevation X Electric, the Luminex, the Rosedale and the Stylus Cara Elite. The optional wall mount controller (W370-0317), with a black or white cover, is listed for the Astound, Elevation Electric, Elevation X Electric, Luminex and Rosedale.

What's included and what to add

• Astound Built-in and FlexMount, and Luminex: Beach Fire logs and a Woodland media kit are included. Add a birch log kit sized to the model (small for the FlexMount 50" and 62", medium for the Built-in 50" and FlexMount 74", large for the Built-in 62", extra large for the Built-in 74" and 96" and the Luminex), black crystal media, mineral rocks or glass beads.
• Astound SlimMount: the Woodland glass media kit, trim kit and edge panels are included; glass embers are optional.
• Entice: crystal media is included. Optional logs with rocks are sized to the fireplace: birch for the 36" and 42", 50", 60" or 72", or driftwood for the 36" and 42", 50", 60" or 72".
• Rosedale: the oak log set and remote are included. Finish the opening with a black faceplate (3-sided, 4-sided or arched) or a black backerplate (large 3-sided, large 4-sided or trimmable), each made for the 26" or 29".
• Cineview and Element: self-trimming, with a log set included (the Cineview adds black crystal media). An optional 5" black finishing trim installs 3-sided or 4-sided: NEFTK2636 for the Cineview 26, NEFTK3040 for the Cineview 30, NEFB36H-BS-TRIM for the Element 36 and NEFB42H-BS-TRIM for the Element 42.
• CLEARion Elite: logs, topaz glass embers, crystal media and two remotes are included; glass embers in other colors are optional.
• Elevation Electric and Elevation X Electric: split oak logs and a remote are included, and the Elevation Electric comes with a one-piece finishing trim. The wall mount controller is optional.

Napoleon Elevation Electric and Elevation X Electric

Napoleon built both Elevation electric lines to fit the framing of the gas Elevation X, so a builder can frame the wall now and choose gas or electric later. Framed for electric alone, the 36" needs an opening 39-3/4" wide by 35-9/16" high, and the 42" an opening 45-3/4" by 39-9/16".

• Elevation Electric (NEFB36H-MF, NEFB42H-MF): triple-layer flame and premium split oak logs, 16-1/4" framing depth, hardwired at 120V or 240V.
• Elevation X Electric (NEFB36LCD-MF, NEFB42LCD-MF): LCD gas or wood flame video with crackling sound, glowing split oak logs over a modulating ember bed, 16-7/8" framing depth, plug-in or hardwired.

Both are 0" to combustibles at the sides, back, bottom and top, including a mantel and the ceiling, measured from the glass front. Keep them at least 36" from curtains, furniture, bedding and other combustible materials.

Napoleon Astound

The Astound comes three ways, all with spark flames and app and voice control:

• Built-in (50" to 96"): hardwired, 10,000 BTU at 240V, a flip-down glass front for changing the logs and media, a framed or frameless finish and a 5-year warranty.
• FlexMount (50" to 74", 7-1/8" deep): on the wall, partly recessed or fully recessed, plug-in or hardwired, with edge panels and trim for a fully recessed install and a 3-year warranty.
• SlimMount (42" to 74", 4" deep): on the wall or fully recessed in a 2x4 wall, 5,000 BTU, plug-in or hardwired at 120V and a 3-year warranty.

Warranty

Napoleon's electric fireplace warranty covers the fan and heaters, motors, switches, nylon bearing components, remote controls and LED lights. Light bulbs and fuses aren't covered. The length depends on the line:

• 5 years: Astound Built-in, Elevation Electric, Elevation X Electric, Luminex and Rosedale.
• 3 years: Astound FlexMount and SlimMount, CLEARion Elite and Stylus Cara Elite.
• 2 years: Element, Trivista Primis and Entice.
• 1 year: Cineview, Allure Vertical and the Woodland log set.

Which Napoleon electric fireplaces put out the most heat?

The Astound Built-in and FlexMount, Elevation Electric, Elevation X Electric, Luminex, CLEARion Elite, Element, Rosedale and Trivista Primis reach 10,000 BTU (3,000 W) on a 240V circuit. The others top out at 5,000 BTU.

Which ones can I just plug in?

The Astound FlexMount and SlimMount, Elevation X Electric, Element, Cineview, Rosedale, Entice, Stylus Cara Elite and Woodland log set. Plugged into 120V, the 10,000 BTU models run at 5,000 BTU.

Which ones fit an existing fireplace?

The Rosedale insert slides into most standard wood, masonry or gas firebox openings, and the Woodland electric log set replaces a wood fire. The self-trimming Element and Cineview can also go into an existing opening or mantel surround.

Which is the thinnest?

The Astound SlimMount, at 4" deep, which recesses fully into a standard 2x4 wall. The Entice is 5-1/2" deep and the Allure Vertical 5-5/8".

Is there one that shows the fire in two rooms?

Yes, the CLEARion Elite see-through in 50" and 60". Each side has its own heater and remote, and the privacy glass switches between clear, semi-transparent and opaque. It frames into an 8" thick wall.

Which ones work with my phone or a voice assistant?

The Astound Built-in, FlexMount and SlimMount, Elevation Electric, Elevation X Electric, Luminex, Rosedale and Stylus Cara Elite work with the Napoleon Home app and with Google Home or Alexa.

Which models have an LCD flame?

The Elevation X Electric and the Luminex. Both show the flames on an LCD panel and have built-in speakers for fire sounds.
