Empire Tahoe Deluxe 36" Direct Vent Gas Fireplace
The Empire Tahoe Deluxe 36" (model numbers DVD36FP30, DVD36FP31, DVD36FP70 and DVD36FP71, each ending N for natural gas or P for propane) is a zero-clearance direct-vent gas fireplace with a traditional louvered face. A contour-style burner carries a hand-painted set of five ceramic fiber logs, and the firebox is only 16 3/8" deep, so it fits shallow wall cavities.
Millivolt models (FP30, FP31) run the burner without house power. Intermittent pilot models (FP70, FP71) use electronic ignition with battery backup. Models ending 31 and 71 come with the blower installed.
Key Features
- Up to 20,000 Btu/hr input on natural gas or propane
- Five-piece ceramic fiber log set on a contour-style burner, included

- Blower included on FP31 and FP71 models; an FBB4 blower can be added to the others
- 16 3/8" depth for shallow wall cavities
- 4" x 6 5/8" direct venting from the top or the rear
- Zero clearance to combustibles at the back, sides and floor

Installation Requirements
-
Clearances to combustibles: back 0", sides 0", floor 0", top standoffs 0", top framing edge 3".
-
Ceiling: at least 36" from the top front edge of the fireplace to the ceiling.
-
Side wall: at least 6" from the side of the fireplace to an adjacent side wall.
-
Mantel: follow the mantel chart in the installation manual for any combustible mantel or projection above the unit. Only non-combustible material may cover the black fireplace front.
-
Framing: the 35 3/4" framing height includes a 3" space for the top standoffs. The finished wall must cover that 3" opening above the firebox, so plan the facing before you frame.
-
Floor: on carpet, tile or any combustible floor other than wood, set the fireplace on a metal or wood panel the full width and depth of the unit.
-
Venting: 4" x 6 5/8" direct vent, top or rear. The horizontal run can be up to 20 ft; island and room-divider installs need at least 8 ft of vertical rise. Check the vent graph in the manual for your layout.
-
Power: millivolt models need no electricity to run the burner. Intermittent pilot models run on an AC adapter with battery backup. Blower models need an electrical supply for the blower; see the wiring section of the manual.
-
Installation: must be installed by a qualified installer per the installation manual and local codes.
