Installation Notes

• Wall hole: the Rushmore manual gives a 10" high x 10-5/8" wide hole, with its center line set by the vertical rise and horizontal run.
• Cap location: per the Rushmore manual, the bottom of the cap must be at least 12" above the ground, the top at least 18" below a combustible projection, and the cap at least 9" from a wall running parallel to it. The cap must not be recessed into the wall or siding.
• Vinyl siding: Empire's manuals call for a vinyl siding standoff when the wall is finished with vinyl siding or another material that could discolor or warp. It goes between the cap and the wall, and the cap bolts to its flat face, leaving an air space.
• Vent limits: allowed lengths, elbows and termination clearances differ from one appliance to the next. Follow the venting section of your appliance's manual and the vent systems it approves.
