Installation Notes

• Vent limits: allowed lengths, elbows and termination clearances differ from one appliance to the next. Follow the venting section of your appliance's manual and the vent systems it approves.
• Clearances: the Rushmore manual calls for 3" from combustibles above horizontal 5" x 8" pipe and elbows, 1" at the sides and bottom, and 1" around vertical pipe where it passes through the roof.
• Supports: the Rushmore manual calls for a support every 3 ft of horizontal run, and wall brackets every 4 ft on vertical runs.
• Joints: seal the outer joints with aluminum tape, screws or silicone rated above 300 F; the inner flue joints need no sealant (Rushmore manual).
