Blaze Premium LTE+ 32 inch built-in gas grill and double side burner in a stacked stone outdoor kitchen island

Blaze Grills Compared: BCM vs LTE+ vs LTE PRO vs Professional LUX

Blaze makes four lines of built-in gas grills: the BCM, the Premium LTE+ (also built in 316 marine grade stainless), the Premium LTE PRO and the Professional LUX. Grill heads run from $1,549 for a 25" BCM to $5,299 for a 44" Professional LUX. All of them use 304 or 316 stainless steel and stainless burners, and Blaze backs its grills with a lifetime warranty. What changes as you move up is the grates, the lighting, what comes in the box and how heavy the grill is built. This guide puts all nine Blaze built-in gas grills side by side, with every size, price and island cutout.

The difference in one paragraph

The BCM (Builder Classic Model) is the simplest Blaze: four 14,000 BTU burners on the 32", 9mm triangular grates, a double-lined hood and an analog thermometer, in 25" and 32". The Premium LTE+ keeps the same burners and adds interior and exterior lights, LED knobs with a safety glow, a spring-assisted hood and a 10,000 BTU rotisserie burner, in 32" and 40". The LTE+ Marine Grade is a 32" LTE+ built from 316 stainless for coastal homes. The LTE PRO moves to 12mm hexagonal grates, adds digital temperature readouts and includes the rotisserie kit and meat probes, in 32" and 40". The Professional LUX is the heavyweight: 18,000 BTU burners, 12mm hexagon grates and a rear infrared rotisserie burner with the kit included, in 34" and 44". The 34" weighs 196 lbs, against 114 lbs for a 32" LTE+.

Blaze BCM: the builder's grill

The BCM is Blaze's Builder Classic Model, and it is the least expensive way into a Blaze. The 32" has the same four 14,000 BTU cast stainless burners, the same 531 sq in main grilling area and the same 30 5/8" cutout as the 32" Premium LTE+, for $550 less.

What you give up is the extras. The BCM product pages list a push-and-turn flamethrower ignition with a flash tube backup, removable heat zone separators, full-width flame tamers, a double-lined hood, a full-width roll-out drip tray and an analog thermometer. They do not list grill lights, lit knobs or a rotisserie burner.

The BCM is also approved for commercial use: the 25" carries a lifetime residential warranty and a 3-year commercial warranty, which makes it a fit for condo and community outdoor kitchens as well as a budget island at home.

Blaze Premium LTE+: lights, a rotisserie burner and an easier hood

The LTE+ is the middle of the Blaze line, in 32" ($2,499) and 40" ($2,999). It uses the same cast 304 stainless burners at 14,000 BTU each and adds the features most people notice first:

  • Interior and exterior grill lights that stay on while you cook, and LED control knobs with a safety glow
  • A double-lined hood with a hood assist mechanism, so it opens and closes with less effort
  • A 10,000 BTU rotisserie burner, with the rotisserie kit sold separately ($239 for the 32", $249 for the 40")
  • Blaze's patented triangle-shaped searing rods and heat zone separators

An infrared main burner is available for the LTE+: the Blaze infrared searing burner is $139. The 40" adds a fifth burner, 670 sq in of main grilling area and room for about 24 burgers.

Blaze LTE+ Marine Grade: built for the coast

The Marine Grade is a 32" LTE+ built from 316 stainless steel instead of 304. 316 gives it more corrosion resistance than 304, and Blaze designed this version for coastal homes and waterfront patios. It keeps the LTE+ layout: four cast stainless burners at 56,000 BTU in total, LED knobs, interior halogen lights, flame stabilizing grids, heat zone separators and a double-lined hood.

It costs $1,500 more than the standard LTE+ 32" ($3,999 against $2,499) and uses the same 30 5/8" x 21 1/4" x 8 1/2" cutout. If you live within reach of salt spray, that difference buys a grill body made for it. Inland, the standard LTE+ is the better value.

Blaze Premium LTE PRO: digital temperature and more in the box

The LTE PRO is Blaze's newer line, in 32" ($3,699) and 40" ($4,099). It keeps 14,000 BTU burners and moves up in the parts you touch every time you cook:

  • 12mm hexagonal stainless cooking grates, against the triangular rods on the BCM and LTE+
  • Digital temperature readouts, with meat probes included
  • A 10,000 BTU rear infrared burner with the rotisserie kit included
  • LED-illuminated knobs, interior lights and a spring-assisted hood

Price the LTE+ 32" with the rotisserie kit and it comes to $2,738, so the LTE PRO 32" costs $961 more for the heavier grates, the digital temperature system, the meat probes and the infrared rear burner. The LTE PRO also needs a slightly taller opening: 9 1/2" against 8 1/2" for the LTE+, so plan the island for the grill you are buying.

The LTE PRO line also includes a 40" built-in gas griddle ($3,499).

Blaze Professional LUX: the heavyweight

The Professional LUX is Blaze's top grill, in 34" ($4,299) and 44" ($5,299). Blaze builds it around the thickness of its components, and the scale shows it: the 34" weighs 196 lbs and the 44" weighs 244 lbs, against 114 lbs for the 32" LTE+.

  • Cast 304 stainless H burners at 18,000 BTU each, 54,000 BTU on the 34" and 72,000 BTU on the 44"
  • 12mm stainless hexagon cooking rods
  • A 10,000 BTU infrared rear rotisserie burner, with a rotisserie kit and waterproof motor included
  • Flame-thrower ignition with an individual flash tube for each burner
  • Illuminated knobs, interior lights, a double-lined hood, flame stabilizing grids and a full-width drip tray

The Pro LUX also has the largest footprint: a 23 5/8" deep and 10 1/2" tall cutout, against 21 1/4" deep and 8 1/2" tall for the LTE+. An optional Professional infrared searing burner is $319.

Planning the island

Three things decide whether a Blaze fits the island you have in mind:

  1. The cutout. The BCM 32", LTE+ 32" and LTE+ Marine Grade share a 30 5/8" x 21 1/4" x 8 1/2" opening. The LTE PRO 32" needs 1" more height and 1/8" more width, and the Professional LUX needs more depth and height. Frame the island to the manual for the exact model you order.
  2. The insulated jacket. If the island is built from combustible materials, our product pages list a Blaze insulated jacket as required. It is $599 for 3-burner BCM grills, $649 for 4-burner LTE+ and BCM grills, $749 for 5-burner LTE+ grills, and $849 or $999 for the Professional LUX. The LTE PRO uses its own jackets, $649 for the 32" and $749 for the 40".
  3. The fuel. Every grill in this guide comes in natural gas or liquid propane. Order the version that matches your gas supply.

Want the island done for you? The Blaze 72" stainless steel BBQ island with a Premium LTE+ 32" is $5,398. For layout, utilities and budget, see our outdoor kitchen design guide.

Built-in or freestanding

Every Blaze grill here except the LTE PRO 40" is also sold as a freestanding grill on a matching Blaze cart. The cart adds $699 to $799 for the BCM, LTE+ and LTE PRO 32", and $1,599 to $1,899 for the Professional LUX. A cart is a good way to start: the grill head can move into an island later, as long as the island is framed to its cutout.

Blaze griddles and kamado

Blaze makes more than gas grills. The Premium LTE+ 30" built-in gas griddle is $2,749 and the LTE PRO 40" griddle is $3,499, and both come as freestanding models on a cart. For charcoal, the Blaze 20" cast aluminum kamado is $2,299. See the full lineup in our Blaze grills and outdoor kitchen collection.

So which Blaze grill should you buy?

BCM if you want Blaze burners and construction at the lowest price, are building a budget island, or need a grill approved for commercial and multi-user outdoor kitchens.

Premium LTE+ if you grill at night and want the lights, lit knobs and easier hood, or want the 40" size with five burners for under $3,000.

LTE+ Marine Grade if you live on the coast and want 316 stainless steel.

Premium LTE PRO if you want heavier grates, digital temperature readouts and meat probes, and a rotisserie kit in the box.

Professional LUX if you want the most heat per burner, the heaviest build and the 44" size.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Blaze LTE and LTE PRO?

Both use 14,000 BTU burners in 32" and 40" sizes. The LTE PRO moves up to 12mm hexagonal grates, adds digital temperature readouts with meat probes, and includes a rear infrared burner and rotisserie kit. The LTE+ has triangle searing rods, an analog thermometer and a 10,000 BTU rotisserie burner with the kit sold separately. The LTE PRO 32" costs $1,200 more than the LTE+ 32".

What is the difference between Blaze LTE and Professional LUX?

The Professional LUX has 18,000 BTU burners against 14,000 on the LTE+, 12mm hexagon grates, a rotisserie kit included and a much heavier build: 196 lbs for the 34" against 114 lbs for the 32" LTE+. It costs $4,299 to $5,299 against $2,499 to $2,999, and needs a deeper, taller cutout.

Which Blaze grill has the most BTU?

The Professional LUX 44", at 72,000 BTU from four 18,000 BTU burners. The LTE+ 40" and LTE PRO 40" are next at 70,000 BTU from five 14,000 BTU burners.

Are Blaze grills made in the USA?

Our Premium LTE+ product pages list them as not made in the USA. Check the product page for the specific model you are considering.

Do I need the Blaze insulated jacket?

Yes, if your island is built from combustible materials such as a wood frame. Our product pages list the insulated jacket as required in that case. For a non-combustible island, such as block or steel studs with cement board, the product pages do not call for it. Follow the installation manual for your model.

What warranty do Blaze grills have?

Blaze grills carry a lifetime warranty. On the Professional LUX, it covers the cooking grids, stainless housing, burners, flame tamers, heat zone separators, control valves and other stainless components. Electrical and ignition components are covered for one year, and the grill must be registered within 30 days. The BCM carries a lifetime residential warranty and a 3-year commercial warranty.

Will a BCM fit in an opening cut for an LTE+?

At 32", the BCM, LTE+ and LTE+ Marine Grade all list the same 30 5/8" x 21 1/4" x 8 1/2" cutout. The LTE PRO and Professional LUX need larger openings. Check the installation manual before you swap grills.
