The HUUM CORE is a square, floor-standing electric sauna heater built to blend into the sauna. Choose the matte black steel CORE Black, a version with alder, aspen or thermo-aspen wood panels, or the unfinished CORE with bare metal shields that you finish yourself in tile, stone, glass or wood. All versions can be completely embedded into a sauna bench. Three sizes cover sauna rooms from 177 to 566 cu. ft.: CORE 6 (6.5 kW), CORE 9 (9 kW) and CORE 11 (10.5 kW).

The heater does not run on its own: it requires a HUUM UKU control and sauna stones, both sold separately. See What to Order With It below.

Installation Requirements

Minimum safety clearances (letters refer to the diagrams below):

• Fastening: The CORE 6, 9 and 11 are attached to the floor with the included brackets, one on a heater leg, fixed with a 6 x 40 mm screw.
• Unfinished version: The CORE ST and CORE BK need an exterior finish before use. Connect the wiring from the bottom and test the heater before the finish goes on; a finished heater can be very heavy to turn.
• Power connection: The power cable enters through the bottom cover of the heater. Crimping the power cable ends is mandatory.
• Stones: Use 2-4 in (5-10 cm) stones. Stack them sparsely between the heating elements and tightly on the outside so the elements are not visible. A stone container filled too sparsely is a fire hazard.
• Sauna room height: Minimum 80 in (2030 mm).
• Surface temperature: Installing the heater closer to flammable construction than the clearances above may cause a fire hazard.
• Wiring: Use heat-resistant power cable that meets UL 62; cable with PVC insulation is not allowed. A circuit breaker that disconnects all poles must be installed on the power circuit ahead of the sauna control. HUUM recommends connecting the heater without a GFCI breaker. Breaker and wire sizes above are from the installation manual; your electrician sizes the circuit to local code.
• Junction box: Must be waterproof and located no more than 19.7 in (50 cm) from the floor.
• Uninsulated walls: For any uninsulated brick, tile or glass wall, add 3.3 cu. ft. to the room volume for each 1 sq. ft. of that wall before choosing a size.
• One heater per room: Do not install more than one heater in the sauna room.
• Installation: Electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician, following the installation manual and local codes.

Warranty

3-Year Limited Residential Warranty, 1-Year Limited Commercial Warranty: HUUM covers the CORE with a 3-year limited warranty in residential use and a 1-year limited warranty in commercial use. Heating elements are not covered; they are treated as consumable parts. The warranty applies only when the heater is installed and used according to the manual, and it is void if the heater and sauna room are sized incorrectly.
