Empire 18"/24"/30" Vent-Free Slope Glaze Gas Burner with Manual Valve (Burner Only)

Empire popular Slope Glaze Burners raise the standard for dancing flames. Internal ceramic beads tumble the gas to create an exceptionally realistic flame movement.

Special Ceramic Bead materials within the precisely ported burner swirl the flowing gas to produce naturally flickering flames. All come with piezo ignition and standing pilot. 

It is a manual control burner with a 3 position knob. Controls are concealed inside the firebox. An Oxygen Depletion System (ODS) is included and will quickly shut off the gas if room oxygen levels drop to unsafe levels. This burner will not operate with a remote or a thermostat.

The Slope Glaze Burner features concealed controls and includes a standing pilot for instant starts. It is low in the front and slopes up in the rear to help raise the logs. This burner is manual control - it will not operate with a remote or a thermostat. It includes a 3 position manual knob on the burner, inside the firebox.

Installation Requirements

• Approved for: Installation only in a solid-fuel burning masonry or UL 127 factory-built fireplace, or in a listed ventless firebox enclosure.
• Venting: Vent-free: no chimney or vent needed when installed as a vent-free heater. May also be installed as a vented decorative log set; the damper clamp (in the hardware kit) must then be used.
• Clearances to combustibles: Sides of the fireplace opening at least 6" from any combustible wall; ceiling at least 41" above the fireplace opening.
• Mantel clearance: Non-combustible material must extend at least 12" above the fireplace opening (at least 8" with the optional hood). Follow the mantel chart in the installation manual for any combustible mantel.
• Minimum room size: The room must have at least 50 cubic feet of volume per 1,000 Btu/hr of input (unconfined space). At maximum input that is at least 18": 1,600 cu ft; 24": 1,800 cu ft; 30": 1,900 cu ft.
• Bedrooms and bathrooms: Not permitted in a bedroom or bathroom. The manual prohibits unvented heaters over 10,000 Btu/hr in bedrooms and over 6,000 Btu/hr in bathrooms, and every model on this page is rated above 10,000 Btu/hr.
• Gas input (BTU/hr): 18": 32,000 high / 27,000 medium / 22,000 low; 24": 36,000 / 27,000 / 22,000; 30": 38,000 / 27,000 / 22,000 (same for natural gas and propane). Above 2,000 ft elevation, reduce the input rating 4% per 1,000 ft above sea level.
• Power: Manual valve with piezo pilot ignition. Remotes, wall switches and thermostats work only with the VFSR millivolt models, not this burner.
• Installation: Must be installed by a qualified installer per the installation manual and local codes.
