Installation Notes

• When required: a chase installation needs a chase top, either this one or a field-built chase top that meets the manual: turndown and drip edge, a collar of at least 2 inches around the pipe opening and a 1/8 inch gap around the flue pipe.
• Sealing: caulk the seams, but do not caulk the pipe to the chase top collar.
• Shrouds: if a decorative shroud goes over the chase, the manual adds ventilation, spacer and size requirements; Empire chimney caps must be used inside the shroud.
