Dimplex Glass Swing Door for BF Fireboxes

Dimplex Glass Swing Door

The Dimplex glass swing doors are the only BF front that actually opens. Two glazed doors with black accents, hinged at the sides, closing on a BF built-in firebox the way a real wood-burner's doors do.

If you want the hearth to look like something that gets used rather than something sealed behind a pane, this is the option — and the movement is what sells it, because a fireplace with doors that open reads as a genuine fire in a way a fixed sheet of glass never quite does.

Remember that the BF firebox drops into its opening and leaves a gap. A door kit or a trim kit is what covers that gap, so one of them is not optional if you want a finished result.

Choose Your Size

There is no 45-inch swing door. Dimplex lists the swing doors in 33" and 39" only. If you are building around a BF45DXP, your options are the bi-fold look door, the tamper-proof glass front, or the BF4TRIM45 trim. Worth knowing before you settle on the 45" firebox if swing doors were what you had in mind.

Not for Public Spaces

Doors that open are the wrong choice where the public can reach the fireplace — a hotel lobby, a care home, a waiting room. For those, use the tamper-proof glass front, which has no moving parts and nothing that can be detached.

Dimplex does not publish dimensioned drawings for the BF door kits. If your installer needs one, call us and we will request it.
