What to Order With It
True North lists no factory options for the TN40 stove.
Required, supplied by your installer:
- 3 in. or 4 in. Type PL or Type L pellet vent listed to UL 641. The stove has a 3 in. flue collar. True North suggests 4 in. vent above 4,000 ft, for horizontal runs over 10 ft, or with more than three elbows.
- Non-combustible floor protection (see below)
- In a mobile home: outside combustion air. The intake takes 2 in. inside-diameter non-combustible pipe.

At minimum clearances the stove may have to be moved for service, so leave more room where you can. Store pellets at least 48 in. from the stove.
Floor Protection
The stove must stand on a non-combustible ember protector that covers the full width and depth under the stove, including the vent pipe, and extends 6 in. beyond the front and each side of the door and ash pan openings.
Install to the manual and your local codes. True North recommends an NFI-certified installer. Ask your local building or fire officials about permits and inspection before you install.
Warranty
True North Pellet Products Warranty, for the original purchaser:
- 3 years parts, 1 year labor: firebox, castings and glass (thermal breakage only, not impact)
- 1 year parts and labor: electrical components and switches
- 1 year parts only: gaskets, paint (peeling), bricks, firebox liner, burn pot and liner
The warranty is not transferable and covers normal residential use. It is void if the unit burns fuel it is not EPA certified for. Conditions and exclusions are in the manual.
