Empire Rushmore Decorative Surround for 35" Fireplace Inserts Accessory

The Empire Rushmore 35" insert surrounds (model numbers DS35631BL, DS35961BL, DS351071BL, DS351271BL, DS3563BL and DS35107BL) are black, one-piece, three-sided surrounds that cover the gap between the Rushmore 35 direct-vent insert (DVCT35CBN95) and the fireplace opening. One surround is required.

Four sizes come 1" deep and two come flush.

Specifications

Installation Notes

• Required: the insert manual says a surround must be used with the insert, and only surrounds supplied by Empire may be used. Choose one that covers your fireplace opening.
• Combustibles: nothing combustible may be placed behind the surround or the insert. A mantel must sit above the surround.
• Masonry fireplaces: keep combustible trim projecting more than 1 1/2" at least 12" above the opening, and trim projecting less than 1 1/2" at least 6" above it (NFPA 211); plan the surround size accordingly.
• Installation: fit the surround with the instructions supplied with the surround kit, after the liner, logs and remote are set up.

Warranty

Empire's warranty in the fireplace's installation manual covers remote controls, thermostats, accessories and replacement parts for 1 year (parts), for the original purchaser. Full terms are in the warranty section of the installation manual.
