The Empire Tahoe Clean Face Luxury 42" Direct Vent Gas Fireplace delivers elegance, efficiency, and flexibility for modern living. With its large ceramic glass window and clean-face design, it creates the look of a traditional built-in fireplace while offering the convenience of a direct-vent gas system. Also available in 36-inch and 42-inch models, this fireplace is designed to be both a statement piece and a reliable heat source.
Heater-rated for performance, the Tahoe provides efficient zone heating, helping reduce energy use while keeping your most-used spaces warm. An optional blower quickly circulates heat throughout the room, while the multi-function controls give you greater ease of operation.
Built for in-wall installation, the Tahoe requires just over 22 inches of depth and vents from the top—running through an exterior wall or vertically through the roof. A barrier screen ensures safety, while the 5 x 8 vent-within-a-vent system brings in fresh air and exhausts safely through a single opening.

A fireplace barrier screen is included to help protect you and your family from inadvertently touching the hot glass.
These direct-vent fireplaces draw in fresh outside air to support combustion and exhaust combustion by-products to the outdoors. The 5 x 8 vent-within-a-vent isolates the incoming fresh air from the exhaust, yet still requires just a single hole through the wall or roof.

Installation Requirements
Clearances to combustibles: Back 0", sides 0", floor 0", top standoffs 0", top framing edge 6"; at least 6" from an adjacent (perpendicular) side wall; at least 84" from the bottom of the fireplace to the ceiling
Mantel clearance: Follow the mantel chart in the installation manual for any combustible mantel above the unit.
Venting: 5" x 8" direct vent; up to 40 ft vertical, or up to 20 ft horizontal with an 8 ft vertical rise (see the venting graph in the installation manual)
Gas input (BTU/hr): Natural gas 40,000 max / 27,000 min; propane 36,000 max / 29,000 min
Power: This multi-function model (FP91) is wired to the factory-installed junction box on the lower right side of the fireplace and uses 4 AA batteries for battery backup; the handheld remote uses 3 AAA batteries.
Installation: Must be installed by a qualified installer per the installation manual and local codes.
