Gas connections should be made by a qualified installer and leak tested. Fire Magic instructions: use gas-rated pipe joint compound or tape on NPT pipe fittings only; do not use compound or tape on flare fittings, and do not overtighten them. Fire Magic built-in grill manuals call for a CSA listed stainless steel flex connector at the grill.
