Empire 24"/30"/36" Oak Tinder Vented Gas Log Set
The Empire Oak Tinder log set (model numbers LOT24, LOT30 and LOT36) is a fiber vented gas log set with ember chunks, made for Empire's 24", 30" and 36" vented sand pan burners (VSP single, VDP double or OVDP stainless double) in a wood-burning fireplace. The burner is ordered separately.
The base logs pin into set positions; after that you can arrange the remaining logs to suit your taste. Rock wool from the burner can be added for a glowing ember effect.

Installation Requirements
-
Where it can go: only in a solid-fuel-burning fireplace with a working flue built of non-combustible material, on a vented Empire burner. Do not burn wood or other solid fuel in the fireplace once a gas log set is installed.
-
Damper: a damper clamp must hold the chimney damper open so it cannot close while the logs burn (the sand pan burners include one). Massachusetts requires the damper to be welded open or removed.
-
Chimney: have the chimney and firebox cleaned of soot and creosote before installing the logs.
-
Glass doors and screen: keep glass doors open while the fire burns; use the glass door frame opening as the fireplace front width. Keep a fireplace screen in place.
-
First burn: run the burner on high for at least three hours after installation to burn off dust and paint residue; open a window during this break-in.
-
Drafts: keep fans and cold-air returns from blowing into the fireplace, and avoid scented candles while the logs burn; both can cause soot.
-
Installation: must be installed by a qualified installer per the burner and log set manuals and local codes. In Massachusetts the installation must be done by a licensed plumber or gas fitter.
