Installation Notes

• Adaptor required: the cast iron surround needs the matching adaptor kit: SAK for the direct-vent inserts, SAN for the vent-free inserts.
• Fronts and covers: Empire's price list says the cast iron surround does not accept a decorative front or bottom cover.
• Installation: line up the brackets inside the surround with the insert flanges and secure it with four #8 x 1/2" truss head screws (direct-vent manual).
• On/off switch: with the cast iron surround, the supplied on/off switch mounts on a bracket on the back of the left or right surround leg, with its low-voltage wires run up the back of the leg in wire clips.
