Empire Boulevard 60" See-Through Vent-Free Linear Gas Fireplace
The Empire Boulevard 60" See-Through vent-free (model numbers VFLB60SP90N for natural gas and VFLB60SP90P for propane) is a two-sided linear gas fireplace that needs no chimney or vent, so it can sit in an interior wall between two rooms. It is meant for supplemental heat.
It runs on intermittent pilot with a thermostat remote and has LED lighting. The barrier screens and non-combustible board come with it. Crushed glass is required and ordered separately. With the DFEV60LSS exterior frame one side can face an outdoor wall.

Installation Requirements
Ceiling: at least 36" of clearance to the ceiling and to the top of the enclosure, measured as the manual shows.
Facing: the non-combustible board supplied with the fireplace must cover the area above and beside the opening as the manual shows (22 1/2" above for the clean-face finish, 20 1/2" for the flush finish).
Mantel: follow the mantel chart in the installation manual; a combustible mantel can project 2" at 18" above the fireplace opening, up to 12" at 28".
Side wall: at least 6" from the fireplace to a perpendicular combustible side wall (18" with the outdoor kit finish).
Floor: on carpet, tile or any combustible floor other than wood, set the fireplace on a metal or wood panel the full width and depth of the unit.
Room size: the room must be an unconfined space of at least 50 cubic feet per 1,000 Btu/hr of input (adjoining rooms count only if there is no door between them), or extra combustion air must be provided as the manual describes. With an input above 10,000 Btu/hr, it may not be installed in a bedroom or bathroom. Check local codes before you buy; some areas restrict vent-free appliances.
Installation: must be installed by a qualified installer per the installation manual and local codes.
Power: run a 120V supply to the junction box, entering on the left side; the intermittent pilot uses the included AC adapter.
