Dimplex Plug Kit for Opti-Myst Linear

The Dimplex Plug Kit (model OLFPLUG) converts an Opti-Myst Linear fireplace from a hardwired connection to a standard 120 V household outlet. It saves calling an electrician to run a dedicated wired supply, which on a retrofit can be most of the installation cost.

This kit is 120 V only. That matters enormously on one model in the range.

The Opti-Myst 86" (OLF86-AM) produces no heat at all on 120 V. Dimplex's specification sheet is explicit: "When connected to 120 V, there will be no heat output, but heat functions will be active on the controls with only fans operating." Fitting this plug kit to an 86" means you get the flame, the lights and the sound — and a heat button that does nothing.

If you want heat from an 86", it must be hardwired to 240 V and this kit is not for you. On the 46" and 66" the kit is fine — both heat on 120 V, though both give more heat wired to 240 V.
