Bring the warmth and character of a traditional fireplace into a modern living space with the Dimplex Ignite Quest 30" Electric Fireplace (model QST30, Dimplex order number 500005298). Its hybrid firebox shape combines classic fireplace proportions with contemporary styling — taller and deeper than a linear unit, which is what gives the flame its depth.

The realistic Multi-Fire® flame effect works with glowing loose logs and a pulsating ember bed to create the natural appearance of a wood fire. Run the flames with or without heat, so the fireplace earns its place year-round.

For supplemental heating, the Comfort$aver® Heating System warms spaces up to 1,000 sq ft. The Flame Connect® app adjusts flame colours, brightness, speed, timers, heating schedules and mood settings from a phone or tablet.

Will It Fit? Rough Opening

The Quest is a deep, tall firebox — note the 18" framing depth, which is considerably more than a linear fireplace needs. Frame to these dimensions before the unit arrives:

A trim kit is sold separately — ask us before you order and we will make sure the right one is on the same shipment.

We have left the glass width out of that table on purpose. Dimplex's technical specification sheet prints the viewing width as exactly the same figure as the appliance width on all four Quest models, which cannot be right — the glass cannot be as wide as the whole fireplace. The viewing height and glass depth above are consistent across the range and we are confident in them. If you need the exact glass width for a surround, contact us and we will get it from Dimplex in writing rather than guess.

Electrical Requirements

Worth settling with your electrician before the wall is closed up — the Quest runs at either voltage, but only the 120 V option can be corded.

Note the 12.5 A draw at 120 V against a 15 A circuit — this needs its own dedicated circuit, not a shared one.

Clearances

That last figure is the one people ask about when planning a TV above the fireplace. Check your TV manufacturer's own ambient temperature limit as well.

The Ignite Quest is an indoor appliance. Dimplex's installation guide states it is not to be used outdoors — unlike the Ignite Bold and IgniteXL, which are certified for sheltered outdoor installation. If you need an outdoor unit, talk to us and we will point you at the right model.
