The Dimplex Ignite Evolve 50" Linear Electric Fireplace (model EVO50, Dimplex order number 500002573) brings modern style, flexible installation and fully customizable ambience to contemporary interiors and covered outdoor living spaces. Its sleek linear profile recesses into the wall for a built-in look, with Multi-Fire® flame effects you can tune for colour, brightness and speed.
Comfort$aver® fan-forced heating provides supplemental warmth on demand, and flame-only mode lets you run the fireplace year-round with the heat off. Controls are available three ways — hidden touch controls on the unit, the included remote, and the Dimplex Flame Connect app.

A 2x6 wall lets the unit sit flush with no trim, which is the cleanest look. In a 2x4 wall the unit is only partially recessed, and Dimplex specifies the XLFTRIM50 trim kit to close the gap — we stock it, so add it to your order if you are framing with 2x4.
Electrical Requirements
Worth settling with your electrician before the wall is closed up — the Evolve runs at either voltage, but only the 120 V option can be corded.

Note the 12.5 A draw at 120 V against a 15 A circuit — this needs its own dedicated circuit, not a shared one.

Planning a TV or artwork above the fireplace? Dimplex publishes the temperature zones above the unit as a diagram rather than a single clearance figure — see Figure 2 in the installation guide below, and check your TV manufacturer's own ambient temperature limit against it.
Installing Outdoors
The Ignite Evolve is certified for covered outdoor installation as well as indoor. Outdoors it has to sit under a shelter — a covered patio, porch or similar — never open to the weather, and Dimplex's warranty differs by location: 5 years indoor, 1 year outdoor.
One thing to flag if you read the installation guide linked below. The copy Dimplex currently publishes is revision R06, dated September 2024, and it predates the outdoor certification — it still carries the line "Do not use this fireplace outdoors." Dimplex's 2025 technical specification sheet, the sell sheet and their own product page all confirm the covered-outdoor certification. We have asked Dimplex for an updated manual. If you are installing outdoors, call us and we will get you the current instructions for your project rather than have you work from a superseded document.
