Best-Selling SimpliFire Series
These are the SimpliFire lines Dreamwood Living customers buy most, ranked by series rather than by individual size so you can see which designs are actually winning.
- Inception 36" — our number one SimpliFire, neck and neck with the Allusion Edge. A traditional log-style firebox with exclusive Digital Spark flame technology, hand-painted logs and no glass front, so there is no glare from across the room.
- Allusion Edge — the newest linear series, with Wi-Fi control, four digital flame effects and crackling sound, in 50", 60", 78" and 100".
- Triton — the tall-glass linear, with a 20" viewing height and one-sided, corner or three-sided bay configurations, in 50", 65" and 78".
- Scion — a flush built-in linear with minimalist trim and no visible heater, in 43" and 55".
- Allusion Slim — the most flexible install in the range, sized for a standard 2x4 wall, in 40", 50", 60" and 72".
- Allusion Platinum — a fully recessed linear rated to take a TV or artwork directly above it, in 50", 60" and 72".
SimpliFire Inception
The Inception 36" is the model to look at if you want a conventional fireplace rather than a linear one. Digital Spark flame technology drives a layered fire over hand-painted logs and a glowing ember bed, and because there is no glass across the opening there is no reflection or glare. It runs on 120V for 5,000 BTUs or 240V for 10,000 BTUs, and it is controlled by remote, the IntelliFire app, or voice through Alexa and Google Assistant. At 8-7/8" deep it fits walls that will not take a gas firebox.
One thing to know before you order: the front is sold separately and is required to complete the installation. Choose from the Halston, Chateau Forge or Folio front, and add the Wescott Mantel Kit if you want to install without framing or construction. Ordering the front at the same time as the fireplace avoids a half-finished install waiting on a second delivery.
The SimpliFire Allusion Family: Edge, Platinum and Slim
All three Allusion lines are linear electric fireplaces, but they solve different installation problems.
Allusion Slim is the flexible one. It fits a standard 2x4 wall and can be surface mounted, partially recessed or fully recessed, wired directly or run from a plug kit. Four flame colors, 14 ember bed settings, 5,000 BTUs for spaces up to 400 square feet. Available in 40", 50", 60" and 72".
Allusion Platinum is the fully recessed version, framed into a 2x6 wall for a flush finish with a slim trim. It is specifically rated to have a television or artwork mounted directly above it, which is the usual reason people choose it. Four flame colors and 14 ember bed colors, 5,000 BTUs, in 50", 60" and 72".
Allusion Edge is the newest and the most featured. It slides into a framed opening in an already finished wall, so the drywall, tile or smooth stone runs right to the edge of the glass. It adds Wi-Fi control through the SmartLife app, four digital flame effects, 13 rotating ember bed colors and three crackling sound tracks, and it is the only Allusion that goes past 72" — up to a full 100". Also in 50", 60" and 78". Add the glowing birch log set if you prefer logs to the crystals it ships with.
Triton and Scion Linear Fireplaces
The Triton has the tallest glass SimpliFire makes at 20 inches, which is what gives it presence on a large feature wall. It comes in one-sided, left or right corner, and three-sided bay configurations, and multiple units can be joined with the linking kit for a continuous run of fire across a long wall. Nine flame styles and over 100 flame and ember color combinations, up to 10,000 BTUs on a 240V circuit. Available in 50", 65" and 78", with birch logs and a floating mantel kit as options.
The Scion is the cleaner, quieter-looking option: 16 inches of glass, a minimalist front trim and no visible heater vents, designed to sit flush in the wall with finishing material run to the frame. It ships with crystals, black glass embers and driftwood logs so you can change the look without buying anything, and heats around 400 square feet. In 43" and 55".
SimpliFire Forum Outdoor Electric Fireplaces
The Forum is the only SimpliFire built for outdoors, and it is the simplest way to put fire on a covered patio or deck without propane tanks, a gas line or firewood. It is built in and vent-free, runs on a standard 120V circuit either hardwired or plugged in, and is rated for all four seasons. Four flame settings and 13 ember bed colors, in 43" and 55". Add the matching drain pan for the 43" or 55", and a ShadowGlo birch or alpine timber log set to fill the firebox.
Traditional Built-In Fireplaces and Inserts
Alongside the Inception, SimpliFire makes a straightforward traditional built-in in 30" and 36", each with an optional decorative front. If you already have a masonry or prefab opening you want to fill, the traditional electric inserts drop straight in at 25", 30" and 35", with Mission door fronts and four-sided surrounds available to close the gap between the insert and the existing opening. The GI-32-ZC 32" insert is the option for zero-clearance fireboxes.
For a wall-mounted linear without any framing work, the Format 36" hangs on the wall and pairs with floating mantel kits in 43", 50" and 60".
Fronts, Mantels, Media and Accessories
Most of what changes the look of a SimpliFire is sold separately, which is a feature rather than an oversight — you pick the finish rather than inheriting one. Fronts and doors for the Inception and the traditional built-ins, ready-to-assemble flush mantels in Kenwood, Wescott, Roxborough, Richland, Acadia and Battlefield styles, floating mantel kits for the Format and Triton, slate hearths and headers, and marble and granite hearth sets. Inside the firebox, swap between crystals, black glass embers, decorative spheres and log sets. For a wall-mount installation of an Allusion Platinum, the Boyd build-out kit comes in modern farmhouse and ready-to-finish styles.
SimpliFire FAQs
Do SimpliFire fireplaces need venting or a gas line?
No. Every SimpliFire is electric and vent-free, so there is no chimney, no flue, no gas line and no combustion byproducts. That is what makes them workable in condos, bedrooms, basements, media walls and rental properties where a gas or wood fireplace is not permitted or not practical.
What is the difference between Allusion Edge, Platinum and Slim?
Installation, mostly. Slim fits a 2x4 wall and can be surface mounted or recessed, which makes it the easiest to retrofit. Platinum is fully recessed into a 2x6 wall and is the one rated for a TV directly above. Edge slides into a framed opening in an already finished wall, adds Wi-Fi control and sound effects, and is the only one available up to 100". All three run 5,000 BTUs on a standard 120V circuit.
Does the Inception 36" include a front?
No, and this catches people out. The front is a separate purchase and the fireplace cannot be completed without one. Pick the Halston, Chateau Forge or Folio front when you order the fireplace, and add the Wescott Mantel Kit if you want to install without building a wall around it.
What is the difference between 120V and 240V?
Heat output. The Inception, Triton and Scion all run on either, giving roughly 5,000 BTUs on a standard 120V circuit and up to 10,000 BTUs on a dedicated 240V circuit. If the fireplace is mainly there for looks, 120V is simpler and needs no new wiring. If you want it to meaningfully warm the room, the 240V circuit is worth running while the wall is open.
Can I run the flame without the heat?
Yes, on every model. The heater switches off independently of the flame, so the fireplace works as a visual feature in July and as supplemental heat in January. Most models also let you adjust flame brightness and ember bed color separately.
Can I mount a TV above a SimpliFire?
The Allusion Platinum is specifically designed for it and is the safest choice if that is the plan. Other models vent heat from the front rather than the top, but clearances vary by model, so check the installation manual for the specific fireplace and the minimum distance to any heat-sensitive surface before you commit to a wall layout.
Can I join two fireplaces together for a longer run?
The Triton is the series built for this. A linking kit connects multiple units into one continuous flame across a long feature wall, which is the usual approach for commercial lobbies and very wide great rooms. Send us the wall dimensions and we will work out how many units it takes.
Can a SimpliFire be installed outdoors?
Only the Forum. It is built and rated for exterior use in all four seasons. The indoor models are not weather rated and should not be used on an open patio, even a covered one.
