Majestic DVP 5" x 8" Direct Vent

Majestic DVP is the 5" x 8" direct vent pipe for Majestic direct vent gas fireplaces, including the Meridian, Marquis II, Echelon II, the 36" Pier, See-Through and Corner, the Fortress, and rear-vented Quartz and Mercury models. Here are the pipe lengths from 4" to 48", 45° and 90° elbows, firestops, wall shields, insulation shields, roof flashings, horizontal pipe supports and every DVP termination: horizontal, high performance, high rise, snorkel and vertical caps.

Which fireplaces use DVP?

From the venting notes on our Majestic product pages:

  • 8" DVP pipe is required on the Meridian, Marquis II and Echelon II, and on the Fortress indoor/outdoor see-through.
  • The 36" Pier, See-Through and Corner multi-sided fireplaces require DVP and are also approved for SLP.
  • The Quartz and Mercury vent off the rear with DVP pipe, or off the top with SLP pipe.

The fireplace's installation manual has the vent tables and termination options for your model.

Venting notes from the fireplace pages

Several Majestic fireplaces need a straight vertical run of DVP before the first 90° elbow:

  • Meridian Modern 42": 6"
  • Echelon II 36" and 36" see-through: 18"
  • Marquis II 36", 42" and 42" see-through, and the Fortress: 24" (36" on the Marquis II 42" when it runs on propane)
  • Echelon II 72": 30"

The Majestic gas fireplaces listed above are also approved for Majestic's PVLP-SLP, PVI-SLP-B and PVV-SLP power vents (the Fortress for the PVLP-SLP and PVI-SLP-B) with a power vent wire harness, ordered separately. See the venting section of your fireplace's manual for the full rules.

DVP FAQs

What size is DVP pipe?

5" x 8", with a 5" diameter flue. The Majestic fireplace pages also call it 8" DVP pipe.

What lengths does it come in?

4", 6", 12", 24", 36" and 48" (DVP4 to DVP48).

Which roof flashing do I need?

Match it to the roof: 0/12 to 6/12 or 7/12 to 12/12 pitch, with a DVP-TV or DVP-TVHW vertical cap, both of which include a storm collar.

Is there a cap for a basement install?

Yes, the DVP-TB1 horizontal snorkel cap is listed for basement applications.

Do I need anything for vinyl siding?

The DVP vinyl siding shield (TRAP-VSS) and vinyl protector kit (VPK-DV) are both listed here. Check the instructions for your termination cap to see which one it calls for.

Can my Majestic fireplace use SLP instead?

Some can. The Quartz and Mercury vent off the top with SLP, the Meridian is approved for SLP with restrictions, and the Pier, See-Through and Corner are approved for SLP. The Marquis II, Echelon II and Fortress pages list DVP only.
