Fire Magic
Fire Magic covers more of the outdoor kitchen than almost any other grill brand, and it does it in gas, charcoal and electric. Three gas series make up the core: Echelon Diamond at 30", 36" and 48", Aurora at 24", 30" and 36", and Choice at 24", 30" and 36". Around them sit the Legacy charcoal grills, the EL500 electric grill, and the 46" Aurora A830i that cooks on gas and charcoal side by side.
The rest of the catalogue is what goes beside and under the grill: side burners and power burners, gourmet griddles, pizza ovens, access doors and drawers in four finish lines, outdoor refrigeration, sinks, insulating liners, covers and pre-fabricated islands.
How the series differ, and what to plan besides the grill, are below the product grid.

| Series | Built-in sizes | What sets it apart |
|---|---|---|
| Echelon Diamond | E660i 30" (3 burners), E790i 36" (3 burners), E1060i 48" (4 burners) | The top line. Analog or digital thermometer, and an optional Magic View Window in the hood. Also offered as the 48" E1060s portable grill with a power burner. |
| Aurora | A430i 24" (2 burners), A540i 30", A660i 30" and A790i 36" (3 burners each) | The widest choice of sizes. The A660i and A790i are listed with or without a rotisserie. |
| Choice | C430i 24" (2 burners), C540i 30" and C650i 36" (3 burners each) | The entry line. The 24" is also built as the C430s on a patio post or an in-ground post. |
Pick the width your island allows first, then the series. If the grill sits in a countertop rather than a full island cut-out, the Echelon E540d is a 34" drop-in gas grill offered with or without a hood.
Charcoal, electric and combination grills
The Legacy charcoal grills come as 24" and 30" built-ins, as Firemaster drop-in and Lift-A-Fire built-in models in the same two widths, and as 24" patio post and in-ground post grills.
The EL500 is a 30" electric grill for places where gas and charcoal are not allowed or not practical. The EL500i is the built-in, with single or dual control and an optional Magic View Window; the EL500s mounts on a patio post or an in-ground post, including accessible height versions.
The Aurora A830i is a 46" built-in that puts a gas grill and a charcoal grill in one unit, each with its own thermometer.
Planning the rest of the island
Fire Magic lists an insulating liner for each built-in grill. That is the part you need when the island structure is built from combustible material, and it has its own cut-out dimensions, so decide on it before the island is framed.
Access doors and drawers come in four lines — Premium Flush with soft close, Echelon Black, Select and Select 4-Series — in matching widths, including versions with propane tank trays and louvers. Side cooking covers double side burners, power burners, a countertop single burner and a built-in induction cooktop. Beyond that there are 30" gourmet griddles, built-in gas pizza ovens, compact refrigerators, a kegerator, a double drawer refrigerator, refreshment centers, sinks and fitted covers.
Fire Magic questions
What is the difference between Fire Magic Echelon Diamond, Aurora and Choice?
They are three series of gas grills at different levels. Echelon Diamond is the top line, built in 30, 36 and 48 inch widths with a choice of analog or digital thermometer and an optional Magic View Window. Aurora is the middle line with the most sizes, from 24 to 36 inches, and rotisserie versions of the A660i and A790i. Choice is the entry line at 24, 30 and 36 inches. Specifications for each model are on its product page.
What is the Fire Magic Magic View Window?
It is a glass window set into the grill hood so you can check the food without lifting the lid and letting the heat out. On this site it is offered as an option on the Echelon Diamond built-in gas grills and on EL500 electric grills. It is chosen when you order, so decide on it along with the thermometer type.
Does Fire Magic make an electric grill?
Yes. The EL500 is a 30-inch electric grill. The EL500i is the built-in version, available with single or dual control and with or without a window in the hood, and the EL500s is the same grill on a patio post or an in-ground post, including accessible height models. It is the option for balconies and buildings where gas and charcoal are not permitted.
Can a Fire Magic grill be mounted on a post instead of built into an island?
Yes. The Choice C430s gas grill, the 24-inch Legacy charcoal grill and the EL500s electric grill are each offered on a patio post, which bolts to an existing hard surface, or an in-ground post, which is set permanently into the ground. A post mount needs no cabinetry and takes up very little space, which suits small patios and shared outdoor areas.
