Installation Notes

• Installing (louvered models): the fireplace manual's steps: wearing gloves, unpack and check the panels; lower the bottom louver and remove the upper louver; remove the glass frame and the rear logs; set the rear panel against the back wall (its top edge has a half-moon cutout for the flue opening), then the side panels, then the top panel, bending the holder's hold-down tabs over it with needle-nose pliers; then replace the logs, glass frame and louvers.
• Service: the Premium and Luxury manuals say not to operate the fireplace with a liner removed, cracked or broken; replacement should be done by a licensed or qualified service person.
• Liner styles: the liner descriptions above are from Empire's literature, which says its brick liners are made from ceramic fiber.
