Empire 3 sq. ft. Decorative Glass Media Accessory
This 3 sq ft pack of Empire decorative media contains 3 sq ft of one media type, made up of Empire's standard 1 sq ft bags (model numbers 3x DG1NXS, 3x DG1BKP, 3x DG1BUC, 3x DG1CLF, 3x DG1BCR, 3x DG1BZR, 3x DR1FMA, 6x DRFPA). It is a simple way to order several bags of the same media at once.
Choose crushed glass in one of five colors, the 1" onyx solid drops, the ceramic fiber rocks or the accent pebbles. Check your manual for how many square feet your fireplace or burner can take before ordering.

Installation Notes

Check your manual first: Empire's media brochure says to check the manual for your burner or fireplace for the type of media allowed, where it can go and how many square feet it can cover.

Examples: the Boulevard vent-free fireplaces take about 1.75 sq ft (36") and 2.25 sq ft (48") of glass or rocks, and 5 sq ft (60") and 6 sq ft (72") of crushed glass; the Loft 20,000 and 28,000 Btu inserts take 1 and 1 1/2 sq ft; the Carol Rose fire pits take up to 7 bags (48") or 8 bags (60") of crushed glass.

Placement: crushed glass goes in a single layer. Never put media on or right next to the burner, or over the pilot, sensor, igniter or electrode, and use only media made for use in a fireplace (Boulevard vent-free, Loft and Carol Rose manuals).

Drops and droplets: glass drops and droplets can be mixed with crushed glass as an accent, but the Boulevard and Carol Rose manuals say they cannot replace the crushed glass where crushed glass is required.

Clear frost: Empire recommends clear frost crushed glass on the Boulevard 60" and 72" vent-free fireplaces and on Carol Rose fire pits with LED lighting; transparent and translucent crushed glass lets LED lights show brightest.
