Clearances to Combustibles
Osburn publishes these as lettered dimensions A to F that are defined on the clearance drawings in the installation manual, not in words — so read this table with the manual open rather than assuming which letter is which wall. What matters for planning: a double-wall connector pipe brings the tightest dimension down to 6".
| Dimension | Single wall (USA) | Double wall (USA) |
| A | 13" (330 mm) | 6" (152 mm) |
| B | 14" (356 mm) | 14" (356 mm) |
| C | 7 1/4" (184 mm) | 7" (178 mm) |
| D | 17 3/4" (451 mm) | 10 3/4" (273 mm) |
| E | 24 7/8" (632 mm) | 24 7/8" (632 mm) |
| F | 18" (457 mm) | 17 3/4" (451 mm) |
Alcove Installation
Approved with a double-wall connector pipe. The manual defines these two in words: minimum alcove width (K) 36" (910 mm); minimum alcove height (L) 74" (1,880 mm). Dimensions A and B become 11" and 16".
Floor Protection
On a combustible floor a non-combustible pad must extend 16" (406 mm) in front of the door opening and 8" (203 mm) to each side and to the rear. Protection is also required under any horizontal section of connector pipe.
