Empire Carol Rose 42" Millivolt, 50K BTU Outdoor Traditional Premium Fireplace

This traditional fireplace features an all-stainless exterior. Inside the fireplace, a special stainless steel version of our popular Harmony burner lights up the night with 50,000 Btu. The standard refractory liner and the required refractory Wildwood Log Set provide thermal mass to help minimize temperature fluctuations for your guests. Both the 36-inch fireplace and the 42-inch are rated at 50,000 Btu, and both have their valve and controls concealed beneath the fireplace floor.

Installation Requirements

• Clearances to combustibles: Back 0", top 3/4", sides 3/8" for the first 1-3/4" back from the front face; at least 6" from the fireplace opening to a perpendicular combustible side wall; keep 36" clear in front of the fireplace
• Mantel clearance: Follow the mantel chart in the installation manual for any combustible mantel above the hood.
• Hearth: Over combustible flooring, cover with non-combustible material the width of the fireplace opening, extending at least 16" out from the fireplace.
• Overhead clearance: Minimum ceiling height 84" from the floor; minimum porch area 96 sq ft
• Framing: 36" H x 44-3/8" W x 19-1/4" D (37" H x 45" W with the optional drain tray)
• Location and ventilation: For outdoor use only, in a well-ventilated space; never in a building, garage or other enclosed area. Permitted locations: walls on all sides with no overhead cover; under an overhead cover with no more than two side walls; or under an overhead cover with three side walls only if at least 30% of the horizontal perimeter stays permanently open (more if the openings are screened; see the manual).
• Gas input (BTU/hr): Natural gas 50,000 max / 38,000 min; propane 50,000 max / 36,000 min. Above 2,000 ft elevation, reduce the rating 4% per 1,000 ft.
• Power: Millivolt models (FP32) are self-powered by a thermopile; the gas valve needs no 120V electricity.
• Installation: Must be installed by a qualified installer per the installation manual and local codes.
