Installation Requirements
- Location: Outdoor use only.
- Clearances to combustibles: 1-1/2" air space from the back and sides of the fireplace; combustible side walls at least 24" from the fireplace opening; combustible trim no closer than 8" to the top of the opening and projecting no more than 1-1/2" from the face.
- Mantel clearance: Combustible mantel at least 18" above the opening, maximum 10" deep. Follow the mantel requirements in the installation manual.
- Hearth extension: At least 20" in front of the fireplace opening and 12" beyond each side, with a minimum R-value of 2.06.
- Chimney: 12" diameter, using only the Empire WB12V chimney components listed in the installation manual; minimum height 20 ft, maximum 90 ft; 2" minimum air space between the chimney and combustibles.
- Listing: Tested and listed to UL 127.
- Installation: Must be installed by a qualified installer per the installation manual and local codes.
